Recently I was sent an alcohol free hand sanitizer that is safe for children under 1 from Bio Shield Technologies. I was mostly excited to try this because it was safe to use on my daughter and it's nice to have something quick, easy and effective to clean her up rather than have to run her hands under the sink and wash up....or if we don't have a sink available.

I LOVE this hand sanitizer. It doesn't not have an overpowering smell and it is a sanitizer AND lotion. I feel like my hands are cleaner and moisturized after using it. And it doesn't irritate Lilly's skin even in the slightest! It's really great. I will definitely be picking up another Hand Clens Foaming Pump once ours runs out!

Bio Shield Technologies has many other products you can check out too. They provide alcohol - free and green sanitizers, disinfectants, cleaners and antimicrobial protected coating technologies to schools, public safety offices and individuals wishing to keep themselves clean. Little Tikes recently sent me their Neighborhood Market to review. I was very excited to receive this because my husband and I are getting Lilly a play kitchen for Christmas and I thought this would be such a perfect match with it!...Now Lilly can go shopping at her little neighborhood market and then take her food to her kitchen and cook!

As soon as we got the package, we opened it and started putting it together...it was pretty simple to put together...just screw together the parts. It took me about 45 minutes.

The next morning, when Lilly went into the kitchen, she saw her little neighborhood market and went right over to it and started playing. It kept her entertained for SO LONG! She LOVES it. She really loves the little cupcakes and the fake money and credit card.

Now, every morning, when I am getting her breakfast ready, she is over at her little market playing....it's adorable and it makes getting things done quite a bit easier!

CSN Stores Review

CSN stores sent me some really great products to review and I think you all will be very interested in learning about them! I know that a lot of moms and dads think about getting their kiddos play kitchens for their child's birthday or for the holidays...I am one of those moms. We are planning on getting Lilly a play kitchen for Christmas and I knew that I wanted to get some accessories for her kitchen; so I checked out CSN stores and found 2 really great products to go along with her play kitchen.

First I was sent a Melissa and Doug Pots and Pans set. When we first recieved this set, I immediately fell in love...they are just the perfect size and feel very durable...and I LOVE that this is a wooden set.

I also love that not only did this set come with the pots and pans but it also comes with a spoons, spatula and oven mitt; it really is a great starter kit for a new play kitchen. And I think that this set is made to last through the years!

The only thing I wish was different about this set is the colors (I wish there were more options). The play kitchen we have picked out for Lilly is white with pastels so these don't really go with it but whatever...it'll work!

I also received the Learning Resources Pretend and Play Healthy Lunch Basket. I mean, what's a new play kitchen without some play food!?! This set comes with a shopping cart, 2 slices of wheat bread, 2 slices of turkey, lettuce, tomato, cheese, 4 celery sticks, 2 pretzels, grapes, orange and milk. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this little set. I think it is fabulous; the pieces of food are actual size and I think having this basket of healthy foods is a great way to help teach how to live a healthy lifestyle. I don't think I have mentioned this before on this blog, but I am a certified personal trainer (I no longer train as I stay at home with Lilly now) so I think it is really important to teach her how to eat and be healthy. Now, I am not a total health freak, I'll still get her a little cupcake or cookie set or something.....everything in moderation! Anyhow...I think this set is just awesome....nice looking, easy to clean..just perfect!

As far as CSN goes...they were great. There were THOUSANDS of things to choose from as they have more than 200 stores on their site. They have things from baby products, to cookware, and everything in between. The products arrived quickly (once again!) and on many items, they have free shipping which is also great!

I would highly recommend CSN Stores for your baby and well...everything needs!

I feel very fortunate to be working with Ecomom again and providing you all with another review and giveaway! Eco Friendly-Baby Products from Ecomom sent me the green toys blocks to review. I was really excited to get these as Lilly has been loving blocks for a while now. She especially loves when we build a tower and she comes on over and knocks it down...fun for hours! OK...maybe not hours, but you know what I mean!

Copyright Infringement- BLOGGERS BEWARE!

I have been informed by a reader that at least one of my posts has been copied and reused without my permission on another blog. This particular "blogger" has been stealing posts from several blogs (reviews and giveaways) and from what I've heard and read, her blog shows false stats as well.

The fake blog is known as "The Down Home Diva" and she/he copied and pasted word for word my review for diamondearrings.org and even used one of my pictures. The blog has since been removed. I know that the blog was reported by several people who were violated and others, so I am assuming that it was removed by blogger.

I just wanted to write this post to remind you all of the creepers and thieves out there...I am glad that the only post that was taken did not contain any pictures of Lilly. And now, since this has happened, I am not feeling comfortable posting pictures of Lilly on this blog any longer. I have always kept Lilly's milestone and just everyday blog private because this was always a concern for me with a public blog but I have included pictures of Lilly using some of the products that I review on this blog; and now, from this point forward, all reviews will contain pictures of the product and my review of the product with no pictures of Lilly using them. I will, as always, review the product and let you know how she liked it but I won't be posting any more pictures of her on this public blog.

- Keeping your family vehicle’s tires inflated to the recommended pounds per square inch (psi) will not only save on gas, but will provide a safer ride. 

 - It’s important to keep in mind that during the warm weather of summer, hot road surfaces can cause the pressure to increase in a tire. As a general rule, for every 10-degree rise in temperature, a tire’s pressure increases one psi.

 - Invest in a quality tire gauge! Eyeballing tires to measure pressure can be misleading, as radial tires often look fine even if they are under-inflated.

-And by the way, be sure to rotate your tires on schedule. Since each tire performs different tasks (such as steering or front versus rear wheel drive), tires wear at different rates, and you’ll get more life out of the tires you bought this way.

I now have 3 new pairs of earrings, all that can be used with different outfits and occasions.

I think these earrings are really cute and I am so glad to have them, especially Lillys birthstone color...I don't have anything with her birthstone and so it is nice having a pair of earrings that to me, represent her. Also, the backings are sterling silver so I don't have to worry about them agitating my ears. I personally can tell that they are not real diamonds but I still really like them nonetheless...they sparkle and look really clean.

I was recently given the opportunity to review a 120 palette...yes 120 palette eyeshadow!! bhCosmetics sent me their 3rd edition 120 palette. Here is a little more info from their site:

When I received this palette I was so excited because I have never had 120 colors ready to use....4, yes. 8, maybe. 120, never! There is a color for every outfit, occasion, and personality.

Each color eyeshadow is about the size of a penny...not too big and not too small, in my opinion. If they were any bigger, it would make the palette far to large for my liking...it is still pretty portable given its size.

I really like this palette of eyeshadow...not only because of all the options but because the shadows are true to color. Many times, I buy an eyeshadow and fall in love with the color, but only to put it on and it doesn't look the same as it does on the palette as it does on my eyelids. This is not the case with bhcosmetics eyeshadow; what you see is what you get! I love that!

bhCosmetics also carries blush, makeup brushes, lip color and lip gloss. I am very tempted to try out their lip gloss...I LOVE lip gloss and bhCosmetics has great prices and based on my view of the eyeshadow palette, great quality as well.

I would highly recommend bhCosmetics!....I am very impressed with my new eyeshadow palette!

101 in 1001: 6 More Goals Crossed Off the List!

Life with a VERY fast mobile baby is just crazy...so much fun but crazy!! It makes for a little less time to be able to jump on the blog, that's for sure! But here is a post to catch you up on some of the 101 in 1001 goals I have crossed off the list!

1. 12. Change our cell phone carrier to AT&T and get an iPhone
We did this last month. Aaron has been dying to have an iPhone for as long as I can remember and I decided that we would get one for his bday this year...he got the phone a month early because his other phone 100% totally died. He loves his phone and I am glad that AT&T switched their data plans and you can buy a cheaper plan by deciding what data package you want to get...that helped a lot in persuading me to change our service...well, that and Sprint service at our house just stunk! So now he has his phone and he is super happy and I must admit, it is a pretty cool phone!

2. Take Lilly to the Childrens Discovery Museum.
I have been so excited to take Lilly to the CDM...they have a room called the wonder cabinet and it has a "crawl room"...it is for children who are crawling or very early beginning walkers. Lilly had a great time in the room checking things out and climbing on everything...

She even loved the main part of the museum...the water area was really cool and she liked the little push pin thing, where you put your hand on it and it comes out the other side. We had a good time..I can't wait to take her back when she is a little older and can walk around to different things.

3. Mount TV over Fireplace
Done! Thank goodness because now we don't have to worry about Lilly trying to climb the entertainment center and grabbing/pushing buttons!

4. Take Lilly to the Beach
We took Lilly to Capitola City Beach and it was awesome! When we first got there, we stopped and ate at Zelda's which right along the beach...it was really pretty and the food was pretty good.

After lunch, we went out to the beach and Lilly LOVED and I mean, LOVED the sand....so much so that she wanted to eat it but once she realized that mommy and daddy weren't going to let her eat the sand, she started crawling all over the place and just digging in it.

She wasn't a big fan of the water...we didn't take her in or anything, the water is freezing but she didn't even seem to like the noise much which is kind of ironic because her sound machine plays ocean sounds....

It was a great trip though...it will be fun taking her again next summer!

5. Get a Garage Door Opener
Done! And makes my life a lot easier!

6. Get a new sheet set!

I was so excited to receive this next item to review...Little Grips; little utensils for little hands! I was so excited to try these out because recently Lilly has been refusing to be fed by me or my husband; she will only eat if she feeds herself. Space Bag Review and Contest!

I am sure you have all seen the infomercials....seen them in your local stores like Bed, Bath and Beyond....Space Bags! I was lucky enough to be sent an assortment of space bags to review.

I was more than excited to receive these space bags because I have an overflow of outgrown baby clothes with no good place to put them. And there are SO SO SO many clothes....I started packing them away in those big plastic tubs and there were so many clothes that I was filling tub after tub after tub....and as I was doing that I couldn't imagine where I would fit all these tubs...I just didn't have enough room in the garage for them...so I was really excited for the space bags to come.

When the space bags came, I grabbed ALL of Lilly's outgrown clothes...newborn, 0-3, 3 months and 3-6 months...ALL of them...that is a LOT of clothes. I admit, I go a little crazy with the clothes...the girl clothes are so stinkin' cute! All of these clothes were in 2 jumbo plastic tubs. I dumped them and started filling a large space bag. I fit ALL of the clothes into the large space bag and used the vacuum to suck out all the extra air and shrink it down. I was amazed...it shrunk down SO small! I then took the shrunk space bag and put it into the jumbo plastic tub...I could fit 2 more in that tub if I wanted too! So now I will be able to store so many more clothes in that tub!

I also really like the idea of having Lilly's clothes in a vacuumed sealed bag because it will help keep them looking new...so that when baby #2 comes..if it is a girl...we'll have some good looking clothes for her!

I am really excited to try out the space bag that holds a comforter and bedding. I hate how much space comforters take up in the closet....with the space bag, I'll have some storage space back!

Good Earth Dry Dinner Kit Review and Giveaway-- CLOSED

Recently I was sent a Good Earth Dry Dinner Kit to review. I was sent the Mediterranean chicken with angel hair pasta. I wasn't too sure how I would feel about this meal as I don't usually eat boxed foods but I wanted to give it a shot because with a mobile, attention-demanding baby, it is hard to get dinner cooked.

This meal is ready in about 20 minutes from start to finish and I used far less dishes that I normally do when cooking...less clean up! I LOVE that! This meal was really super easy to prepare. The meal came with almost everything I needed; all I had to have besides the boxed dinner is 1/4 milk, EVOO, and 1 cup of hot water....things we always have. The instructions said to buy chicken breasts and slice them like tenders so to make my life even easier, I bought chicken that was already sliced in that manner. I coated the chicken with the spiced flour, browned it and then added the Mediterranean spices, cream sauce, water and milk...and let it simmer for 8 minutes. Seriously, SO easy. Oh and I boiled the whole grain pasta.

As I was cooking it, my husband came in and commented on how good it smelled and let me tell you..it tasted really good too. I was pleasantly surprised as I don't normally like or make boxed meals. But seriously, this did not taste like a boxed meal. Delicious!

And this is a huge selling point for me: 100% whole grain, no trans fat, no artificial flavors, no artifical preservatives, no MSG- just add meat and, voila! Dinner is served! No guilt! And I am guessing that if you wanted to go an even healthier route, you could probably bake the chicken and add the seasoning, milk, etc. just as you would in the pan.

Sadly, I forgot to take a picture of the end result before I scarfed it all down...seriously, it was that good! I am really excited to try some of the other selections that Good Earth provides!

I am SO excited about this review and giveaway from Kidorable! Kidorable makes the absolute cutest rain sets I have ever seen in my life...their little ensembles come with a rain coat, rain boots and an umbrella...but what I love is that the designs are TO.DIE.FOR! They seriously are so cute...from ladybugs, to frogs, to space hero and to the sophisticated hounds tooth pattern...there is seriously a design for every little kid!

There were so many adorable designs that I really had a hard time choosing which one to go with, but I ended up going with the lady bug ensemble. I live in California and it is June, so it isn't raining, so I picked a size that will fit Lilly later...plus, she is a little young for a rain set just yet but it should be perfect come next rainy season! But I couldn't help but put on the little rain boots on her....

I am so so so in love with the so many of the little outfits that it is amazing! And the quality...FANTASTIC. The boots came in a nice box with a clear window so you could see the boots right when you opened the package; the jacket and rain boots are top notch...they are not cheap looking or feeling at all..they are very high quality and something that will last a long time. Oh yes...and the raincoat came on the cutest little ladybug hanger...simply adorable and such a nice little touch to this perfect ensemble! Oh and the umbrella...I am a bit of an umbrella snob...I hate the flimsy, flip inside umbrellas and I really don't like when they don't round down like a dome because I don't think they protect you from the rain as well....the kidorable umbrella is perfect and exactly what I look for in an umbrella...the umbrella rounds down to a dome shape to keep your child dry.

I can't believe I am saying this but I can't wait for it to rain and to put her in her little outfit...I always said that when Lilly is older, I would take her puddle jumping and now she has the perfect little outfit to do just that!

And you better believe, that as soon as she outgrows her ladybug outfit, she will be getting a new one. I think the next time I will get her the hounds tooth ensemble.

Oh and kidorable doesn't just sell rain ensembles, they also have towels, backpacks, sun hats, knit hats, scarves, embroidered shirts, knit gloves, hanger sets and book ends! I am seriously IN LOVE with this site and their products. SO STINKIN' cute!

Sorry I have been away from the blog...My little sister got married yesterday and we have been crazy busy these last couple weeks!! It was a great day and my sister looked beautiful and Lilly was the most beautiful flower girl EVER!...She did great...smiled and laughed the whole time...everyone loved her!

Tommee Tippee sent me a trainer cup, feeding spoons and an explora bib to review.

I was super excited to try out a different kind of sippy cup as Lilly currently drinks out of the flip and sip kinds and I wanted to see how she would do with a sippy cup that she needed to tilt, as this is a skill she will need in the future...a little ways in the future, but a skill needed, nonetheless! Tommee Tippee sent me their explora truly spill proof trainer cup. First of all, it is adorable and I am a sucker for all things cute and girly! But more importantly, they are not lying when they say spill proof and I LOVE that! I also love that it has the little handles on both sides so that Lilly can grasp and hold onto it easily. We gave it to Lilly as soon as it came in and she grabbed it very easily and put it straight to her mouth...she didn't understand the tilting as her other sippys are the flip and sips but we are working on it and she is definitely getting better!

I was also super excited to try out their explora bibs. Two features of this bib really stuck out to me and made me really excited to try it. First, you can wipe it clean. Cloth bibs are cute and all with their little sayings but they are a total pita in my opinion because once we use it for one feeding, it goes straight into the hamper.....3 feedings a day = 3 bibs in the hamper.... times 7 days a week....well, that is a lot of bibs! I was excited to use a bib that I could just wipe clean after using it so we could use it again for the next meal. Secondly, I was looking forward to the crumb catcher at the base of the bib...Puffs are awesome and Lilly loves them but OH MY GOODNESS...what a mess...especially on her lap since she hasn't totally perfected picking up the puff and getting it into her mouth!

I have to say, I was not disappointed with this bib...it is AWESOME and totally my favorite bib that we own! We do have a couple other wipe down, crumb catcher bibs but I love these Tommee Tippee ones so much more because they are more sturdy and they roll up which is great for storing them in the drawer and in my diaper bag.

A couple other features of the bib (stated on their site) include being made from soft and light material, BPA free, and dimpled reverse encourages air-flow and prevents irritation on delicate skin.

Lastly, they sent me some explora heat sensing spoons. I actually really like these spoons....I wasn't too sure about them when I first saw them...they have kind of a flat look to them but they are really easy for Lilly to eat off of. Some of her spoons are super shallow and don't hold enough food and some are too deep and she can't get her mouth deep enough into the spoon to pull all the food off. These spoons are perfect as far as depth goes (for Lilly at least) and she is able to get off all the food in one bite. They have become my new favorite spoon!

Little Green Books Review and Giveaway-- CLOSED

Little Green Books sent me 5 different eco-friendly books that help teach children (and parents) the importance of recycling, helping keep our planet clean, pollution, global warming and more!

I also think that it is wonderful that these books are made up of recycled materials...it reiterates the importance of recycling and what can be produced from it....a great lesson for children.

I received the following 5 books to review:

I Can Save the Ocean:
This book is all about how we can help save the ocean...I wanted Lilly to have this book because we live in California, very close to ocean and I think it is important to teach our kids to respect the ocean and keep it clean...Lakes too..I mean, I LOVE Lake Tahoe...it is unbelievably gorgeous but it wouldn't be that way if we didn't take care of it. Lilly is too young to understand all this now but we still read it to her now and will teach her when she is older. She did really seem to love the bright colors in this book.

This is Our World
I thought this was a great book to get because it shows our worlds cultural diversity. It also goes on to teach children about recycling, reducing pollution and more.

The Adventures of the Aluminum Can
This was a must have book for us. Recycling is important and I don't think that most people really understand what recycling entails. This books shows you exactly what happens in the recycling process. I love this book because both my husband and I are BIG into baseball. I went to college on a softball scholarship and he went to college to play baseball as well (we are both catchers too!)..anyhow...we know that baseball/softball is something that Lilly will be around and be introduced too so I think it would be really cool to teach her how that aluminum bat came to be!

Little Panda
This is by far Lilly's favorite book at this point. It is a soft, fleece book and she is absolutely enamored with the little Panda that is sewn on the front cover...she loves playing with the little ears that aren't sewn completely down...so she can fiddle with them...it keeps her entertained for quite some time!

And she even likes to cuddle with it and rest her head on it like a pillow...ADORABLE!!! =)

The Polar Bears' Home
I partially chose this book because I think polar bears are one of the cutest animals in the world...I just love them and I think most kids do too! But I also chose this book because it helps teach children about global warming. It is just another tool to use to help teach Lilly and other kids about global warming and what we can do to help.

101 in 1001: Hand Painted Aisle Runner

I haven't made on in a while...since I closed my Etsy shop really....but my sister is getting married (in 12 days!) and I HAD too make her one...plus she asked me! It was actually really fun to make one again and got me thinking about re-opening my shop to sell them again...it was by far my most popular item...I'm undecided but for now, I am just really happy with the way my sisters came out!

A little backstory on the monogram...she and her fiance, JC, went to Paris (amongst other places) and while there, JC popped the
question in front of the Eiffel Tower. So she has some elements of the Eiffel Tower throughout her wedding.

I am just really excited about how this came out and can't wait to see it in the church and to see my sister walk down it!!!

CSN Stores Review

CSN stores sent me some really great products to review and I am so excited to share them with you all! I was sent a Step2 Easel and an Edushape play and sound mat.

First, the Step2 Easel. I chose to review this item so that when older kids come over for play dates, I have something that will interest them; plus it will be great for when Lilly is older as well. What I really like about this easel is that it is made for 2; one side is a magnetic white board and the other side is a chalk board...so two kids can play at once which is always nice!

The easel was SUPER easy to put together....I mean, if you can really call it putting it together...all we did was add the little shelf between the two easels. Very quick and easy.

The easel came with little foam alphabet magnets. These are a little flimsy...but they work. I like personally like the little plastic alphabet magnets better and I already had some, so I keep those with this easel. This easel didn't come with chalk but I have buckets full of sidewalk chalk and that works just fine!

I really like the durability of this easel...It really feels like it will last through some years and some rough toddler play. Right now, I have it in the backyard (in the shade) so I am sure it will wear a little faster out there so I plan to sew a little cover for it to protect it even more. Overall, I am very pleased with this easel and would definitely choose it again!

CSN stores also sent me an Edushape Baby Play and Sound Mat to Review. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this mat and so does Lilly. The mat is full of bright colors, a mirror, animal shapes and the textures are different and neat feeling too. I love this mat because it creates a nice safe place for Lilly to play and it is multi-sensory.

Lilly really loves the little holes in some of the animals...she sticks her fingers in and wiggles it around...plus, it makes it easy for her to pull out the animal shape if she wants to.

I think her favorite part of the mat is the little mirror. She just stares and stares at herself in that mirror...it makes me laugh every time!

As far as CSN goes...they were great. There were THOUSANDS of things to choose from as they have more than 200 stores on their site. They have things from baby products, to cookware, and everything in between. The products arrived quickly and on many items, they have free shipping which is also great!

I would highly recommend CSN Stores for your baby and well...everything needs!

I was sent the ultimate organizer to review and I was super excited to see this and use it as I am total type A personality....I do keep a lot of information on my computer but I am the type that likes to have all my information in one place, hand written even.

This book has sections to organize your financial and legal information, family health and medical information, babies and children, pets, home, home office, car, entertaining, beauty/fitness, travel, occasion information, phone directory and to do list. It has all your important information in one handy book...I seriously love it. If I need the house cleaners number, I can get it in my book. If I need to re-evaluate my monthly expenses, I can go to this book. If I need to give a babysitter instructions, I already have a note filled with all important information. Everything is at my finger tips and I love it.

Since my readers are mainly mommy's, I thought I would go into more depth about the baby/children section. I LOVE the components of this section. There is a babysitter contact list you can fill in so that you always have your favorite nanny's numbers on hand; if you don't already have a nanny, there is a sheet with questions you can use to interview a nanny. For older kids, there is a chore chart, extra curricular and after school clubs/activities information chart, game and practice schedule charts, and more. All these charts/info in one place can really keep your organized; what I really love about it, as I said before, is that all the information you need is all in one place.

If you purchase this book, it also comes with a CD. Mine did not come with a CD so I can't comment on that but the ultimate organizer website says, "The Ultimate Organizer contains more than 250 pages designed to un-complicate your life. It also comes with a CD-Rom which includes expanded versions of the pages found inside the book. On the disc you will find additional forms covering every area of your life." So if you are the type of person that likes using the computer for information, the CD may be really helpful to you as well.

I am really happy to have this organizer..having everything right there at my fingertips is just so great for me...right up my alley!

All Terrain Product Review and Giveaway--CLOSED

All Terrain sent me a few products to review and I was so super excited because Aaron and I love to go hiking along the mountain trail right behind our house...we grab Lilly, put her in the BOB stroller and we head out for a nice little walk. We love the trail but we do need to protect ourselves fro the sun...it is NOT a shady trail and also...well, the bugs...gotta keep those suckers off of me too...I'm a little bug-a-phobic! Oh and just an FYI, all these products are made with all natural ingredients!

First we tried out the sunscreen....we were SO SO super impressed with TerraSport SPF 30 and AquaSport SPF 30. We went out on a little run and this sunscreen was definitely sweat proof...you could see the sweat bead up on the skin...it was great...no burn at all! And I also didn't feel like it was sticky which I loved!

When we went out on our hike in the mountain, I spritzed myself with the insect repellent: Herbal Armor Spray. I love love love this spray..first, I love that it sprays out in a white color that way I can see that I cover my entire body and not miss patches because I can't see it. I also LOVE the smell of it...delicious...kind of lemony!...I am a bit of a lemon enthusiast so this was really exciting for me.

Fortunately, I didn't hurt myself or get any cuts or bruises on our hike so I didn't need my antiseptz spray but later in the day, I stubbed my toe on our hearth fireplace so I spritzed my toe with the antiseptz spray and made sure it was all clean. I love how easy it is to use and it is easy to take with me on the hikes (I just stick it in the pocket of our stroller) or pack in my diaper bag..it's just brilliant.

Lastly, I tried out their Handsanz with Aloe and Vitamin E....I love it...see a pattern here? I can TOTALLY feel the aloe and vitamin E...it is kind of lotiony but you can still feel the sanitizer. My husband didn't like the fragrance of it so he doesn't use it often but ha, more for me!

I am totally in love with these All Terrain products and will definitely be restocking my stash when we start to run low!

4 More Goals Completed!

We have been working on our 101 in 1001 goals and gettin' it done! We have now completed 4 more goals!

One major goal we had was to redo the backyard....make it a fun place to hangout and a great place for Lilly to play. We have a really large yard and it was a HUGE weedy mess. So our goals, were to remove and replace the sprinklers in the backyard, lay new sod and add landscaping. The plan was to do all this ourselves but we just didn't have the time or energy. It is such a big backyard and trying to work on it when Lilly is sleeping was just really hard and it didn't give us enough time to get it done...so we hired out.

We are so happy with the yard....we love going out there and just lounging and watching Lilly swim in her little wading pool. We are definitely using the backyard WAY WAY WAY more now that it looks good....BBQ....swimming....lounging and playing. It is awesome!

The stone wall and corners is the landscaping we wanted...now we just have to add some flowers!

And finally, the latest goal accomplished...a major spring cleaning of the house! This takes WAY too much time with a wee one so I hired out for this too. But now the house is spic and span...all the way down to the baseboards! WOOHOO!

Smart Mom Jewelery sent me a beautiful patterned teething bling necklace to review and I LOVE it! And Lilly absolutely loves it...she is obsessed with it and it has been such a great tool now that she is teething so bad. She just munches and munches on this! I get a beautiful accessory and Lilly gets an awesome teether!

I have other nursing and teething necklaces and this is by far my favorite (and Lilly's). The other teething necklaces I own have hard pendants...this necklace is kind of rubbery and so Lilly can manipulate it better and it helps to really get in the grooves of her teething pain. Right now, this is her favorite teether! In fact, if I am not wearing it, I attach it to her jumperoo so that she can play with it and chew on it all she wants.

I am totally eying this cute pink calcite and cupcake set they have and I am looking to get a couple more necklaces so that I can use them with more of my outfits. I love the Malachite donut shaped pendant and this brown snowflake donut shaped pendant. I am so so so in love with the necklace that I really cannot rave enough about it and I can't wait to get some more!

I was given the opportunity to review my choice of a delta faucet up to a $300 value and I chose to review the Leland Single Handle Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet with Soap Dispenser.

As you guys know, I am working on my 101 in 1001 goals and some of those goals include home remodeling. Well...our kitchen was first on that list because seriously, it was not only dangerous for Lilly but it was atrocious! One area of the kitchen I really disliked was our faucet....it was old, grungy and didn't have very good water pressure. I have to admit..I am kind of embarrassed to even post the before picture....I even cleaned it before taking a picture...gross, right?!!?
Seriously...so embarrassed! I am so glad it is gone!

We were definitely in need of a new one so I was SO SO SO stoked when the new delta faucet came in the mail! It is beautiful and exactly what we wanted.
Here it is in our new remodeled kitchen!
I love the pull-down spray wand and the high arc on the faucet! The high arc gives us the extra clearance we need for the deep pots that we have and our old faucet did not allow us this luxury!

Oh and the water pressure! AWESOME!! It is amazing! I am SO in love with this faucet and I have to say, we have been having friends and family over now that the kitchen is done and we sure do get a lot of comments on our new faucet....it really is that beautiful!....the pictures really don't do it justice!

HappyBaby sent me free trial coupons for a bunch of their baby food products. We started Lilly on solids a few weeks ago and I was really excited to try out these foods for Lilly. I was most excited to try out their frozen purees which are organics, so just like if I would have made that at home myself!

When our kitchen was being remodeled, I didn't have time or a kitchen to make Lilly her food. So I went on over to Whole Foods where I could use my free trial coupons and picked up some frozen purees. I decided to go with Thank You Peas and Carrots, Sweeter Potatoes and Purer Pear, and Smarter Squash and Wiser Apple. While I was there, I also picked up some of their other items with the free trial coupons; I grabbed some organic banana puffs, organic green puffs, mixed berry happy melts, and HappyBellies Organic Oatmeal Cereal and Organic Multi-grain Cereal.

We first tried out the happy baby frozen purees and I have to say that I love them. They are nicely packaged into 1oz cubes that you can just pop out and then heat up to eat (There are 12 cubes in each package).

Lilly has tried all the different flavors we bought and she has liked them all. She especially loves the Sweeter Potatoes and Purer Pear! I also added in some of the oatmeal to the frozen purees and that was a hit too...it helped thicken up her meal a bit.

We haven't yet tried the happy melts but we did give the organic banana puffs a try. The pediatrician said we should start giving Lilly some finger foods and so we tried the puffs...finger foods make me super nervous, so I broke up the little puff into 5ths...I know...super paranoid mommy! I don't think she was quite ready for the puffs but she did have fun playing with them and working on her dexterity!

I am really impressed with the quality of the food and am glad that there is a quality, organic product that I can go to when I don't have the time to make Lilly her food. Lilly gives the food 2 thumbs up!

Sodastream sent me their Fountain Jet- Soda Starter Kit and a bunch of soda flavors to try out. The Soda Start Kit came with the Machine, one 60L carbonater, and 2 bottles. I was SO excited to try out this product; my husband and I love soda...probably a little too much! And you know what? Soda is freaking expensive! The cheapest I have ever bought soda in a 12-pack is $3.00. I have been lucky and seen four 12-packs for $12.00 and Target a couple times.

So when this machine came, I was super excited to try it out because one bottle of flavor makes 33 cans of soda and one bottle of flavor costs $4.99-$6.99 depending on the flavor. That is 15 cents-21 cents a can or $1.80-$2.52 a 12-pack! Plus....no lugging around big packs at the grocery store and even bigger for us, no huge mounds of soda cans building up on the counter before we take them out!

Another great thing I LOVE about this soda stream maker is that NONE of the drinks contain high fructose corn syrup and the diet flavors do not have aspartame (they are sweetened with splenda instead). Oh and it is healthier for you too! Check out this comparison chart (click on it to see it larger):
Now the important part...does it taste good? I mean...because if it doesn't, then what's the point.
We tried all the flavors they sent which included:
Cola, Ginger Ale, Orange Mango, Lemonade, Diet Cola, Diet Lemon Lime, Diet Pink Grapefruit, Diet Root Beer and 3 My Water Essence flavors.

We tried the flavors of sodas we normally buy first (cola, diet cola and diet lemon lime)....we LOVED them all. They tasted just like the kind from the store and actually, even a little better....like it was extra fresh.

We tried the flavors we weren't too sure about last...like the diet pink grapefruit and orange mango. Can I just tell you that the diet pink grapefruit (compared to diet fresca) was my absolute favorite....DELICIOUS! The Orange Mango was really good too. It kind of reminded me of a Mimosa without the champagne...although, you could add some if you wanted!

There honestly was not a flavor we did not like. We were highly impressed.

We are total Sodastream converts.... I haven't bought soda from the store since we have had this thing. It is amazing! We have been using it for about a month now and we still haven't run out of flavors! I did order some new flavors to try though...like diet pete's choice (compared to Diet Dr. Pepper) and Zero Cola (compared to Coke Zero)! Can't wait to try those ones out!

So onto the review...

First, when the package arrived at my doorstep and I opened it up, I was so impressed with the packaging...GORGEOUS! Not only did I recieve a new flat iron, storage pouch and iron mat but I also was given the Hana ShineShield Thermal Protectant, lavender scented hand santizer, nail files and silk roses that had been hand dipped into fragrance and soap...the packaging was beautiful and it smelled amazing! Right now, I have the hand dipped roses in my bathroom for decoration and scent!

Now, the flat iron....I gotta say, I LOVE LOVE LOVE this thing! I have a Chi and I love this one so much more! The Hana Professional Flat Iron left my hair looking shiny and not dried out in the least. I also love how this flat iron has a heat setting. I can change the setting to match my hair style whereas my chi only has one setting which ends up frying my hair a bit because it is too hot for my hair type. I am absolutely in love with my Hana Professional Flat Iron! See the results for yourself!

I first fell in love with Earth Mama Angel Baby Products when I started using their nipple butter when I was just starting out breastfeeding..the cracking, bleeding...all the pain involved when your body is adjusting to breastfeeding was hard. I first tried Lanolin as that is what the hospital gave me but I found it to be really thick and didn't feel like it helped much. I had read about Earth Mama Angel Baby Nipple Butter and read all the great reviews and decided to try it out...it was AMAZING...it really helped relieve and heal my nipples. I don't need it much more that we are established in our nursing and my body has adjusted but every now and again, I use it for when Lilly is a bit "rough" and it is just the best stuff...I won't use anything else!

Earth Mama Angel Baby sent me some of their Organic Milkmaid Tea and Happy Mama Body Wash to review.

I was super excited to try out the Organic Milkmaid Tea. I, unfortunately, got my first period at 6 weeks postpartum even though I exclusive breastfeed. With my period came a huge drop in supply. So every month, when my period shows up, my supply drops....I was really hoping to find something to help and so I was super excited to try out this product which contains 100% organic herbs that are traditionally used for healthy breast milk production.

Below are the listed ingredients in this milkmaid tea:
Foeniculum vulgare (organic fennel) seed, Trigonella foenum-graecum (organic fenugreek) seed, Rubus idaeus (organic red raspberry) leaf, Urtica diocica (organic stinging nettle) leaf, Mentha spicata (organic spearmint) leaf, Citrus sinensis (organic orange) peel, Pempinella anisum (organic anise) seed, Carum carvi (organic caraway) seed, Medicago sativa (organic alfalfa) leaf

When I first opened the tea package, it had a very familiar smell...it smelled just like maple syrup! I have actually read that fenugreek (an ingredient in this tea) smells like maple syrup so I knew that is where the smell was originating from. I am not normally a tea drinker at all...but I really wanted to help up my milk supply during my menstrual cycle and was willing to try almost anything....let me tell you...this tea is pretty darn good! And that is coming from someone who doesn't even like tea!

Also, I do feel like it did help increase my supply a bit during my menstrual cycle and that was my hope! I am now going to be using this tea every month to keep my supply up during that time!

Earth Mama Angel Baby also sent me their Happy Mama Body Wash....and Oh my goodness...I LOVE it. When I use this body wash, I totally feel like I am taken to a tropical place; the smell is so intoxicating and beautiful!

And for you pregnant ladies out there, this is safe to use during pregnancy. It is said to be ideal for noses that are sensitive from morning sickness (fresh ginger is used to combat queasiness)...I had HORRIBLE morning sickness....actually, I had Hyperemesis Gravidarum while pregnant with Lilly...so anything that could have helped even just a little in regards to nausea would have been great! If I have morning sickness with #2, I will definitely try this body wash to help!

101 in 1001: Kitchen Remodel

I have completed another goal on my 101 in 1001 goal list! This was a HUGE goal too...My husband and I really wanted to get our kitchen remodeled before Lilly was crawling because it was just so old and unsafe. The drawers didn't have any stoppers...some had screws/nails hanging out...they were just awful. We have only been in our new house for a short while so we haven't had to deal with the kitchen for too long but this was definitely a goal we wanted to finish sooner than later!

We are SO excited that the Kitchen is done and we LOVE it...I am in love with the granite counter-top and full backsplash and I love my new delta faucet! Check out our before and after pictures!

BEFORE:
I HATED the brick...so so ugly! I also wasn't a fan of all the mismatching appliances...and we desperately needed a new microwave...ours was new in 1995! We also needed a new dishwasher and range...the fridge is still pretty new.
Up close, you can see how worn the cabinets were...and do you see that nail sticking out of the cabinet?!? It wasn't even something we could pull out...we couldn't get to the head of the nail...the best we could have done was hammer the nail down toward the cabinet. This whole set-up before was just not baby friendly...or mommy friendly. I hated my kitchen.

DURING:
Everything ripped out!

AFTER:
I SUPER PUFFY HEART IT!! The way the cabinets were designed, we have so much more storage space. Before we didn't have a corner cabinet and so the end of the old cabinet was wasted space because we couldn't reach anything back there...now we have a huge corner cabinet that we can put stuff in! The cabinets are also taller...it is exactly what I wanted! Now I love being in my kitchen!
Our new appliances! All matching and I love them all!
Our new delta faucet (Leland Single Handle Pull Down with Soap Dispenser) Aaron and I LOVE LOVE LOVE this faucet! Be on the lookout for a review on this faucet and a giveaway for your chance to win a delta faucet of your choice up to a $300 value!

So the Thirsties Booty Luster...First...LOVE the name. It makes me laugh a little bit each time. When I told my husband I was going to be reviewing "booty luster" he wasn't quite sure what to say or think...then I told him what it was! LOL!

Thirsties booty luster is a completely non-toxic solution that is 100% biodegradable and is made here in the good 'ol U.S of A! The solution is blended by hand in small batches using flowers, plants, resins, and high quality organic ingredients.

Here are the ingredients:
Aloe Vera, Vitamin E, Water-based Extract of Coconut, Honey, Grapeseed Extract, Traces of Glycerin, Avocado Oil, Humectant, Moisturizers, and other Organic Ingredients.

I absolutely LOVE the booty luster. It has a great, natural citrus-y smell and really helps clean her diaper area with just a few quick wipes. It really gets the job done and it does so in a yummy smelling, natural and moisturizing way! I most definitely prefer the thirsties booty luster to my plain water on a wipe!

I was able to use the booty luster and clean her diaper area with a few quick wipes AND use only ONE wipe when I used the thirsties fab wipes.

I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the size of these wipes...they are a great size...not too big and not too small, measuring at 8x8. I was able to wipe, fold, wipe, fold, wipe. No issues with being too small and needing to grab a new one. They are also SUPER SUPER soft and continue to be soft even through a number of washes.

These fab wipes are 2 ply; a textured cotton velour on one side (for bigger messes and wipe-ups) and microfleece on the other side for drying or lighter messes. Genius! I am in love with these wipes!

Plus, they are absolutely adorable...the colors are so vibrant and fun. The fab wipes come in 2 different color sets, girl and boy.

I highly recommend BOTH the booty luster and the fab wipes!

Eco Nuts Organic Laundry Soap Review and Giveaway-- CLOSED

Eco Nuts was kind enough to send me some Eco Nuts to review AND one lucky winner is going to win a 50/90 load box...that is enough Eco Nuts for 50 hot washes or 90 cold cycle washes! So what are they and how do they work?

Eco Nuts are a fragrance free, hypoallergenic, biodegradable, antimicrobial and reusable laundry soap. They are dried berry shells from Sapindus mukorossi tree in Asia.

I tested these little guys out and I have to say I was quite impressed...ESPECIALLY how well they cleaned the dirty cloth diapers...they came out clean and smelled fresh. The way they work, is you get a handful of nuts...about 5 and then you put them into the little sash baggie they send along with your soap, tie it off and throw it in the wash with your dirty laundry. When your load is done, you take the baggie out and you can use it for your next load (whenever that may be). They can be used for 5-7 washes in hot water and up to 10 for cold water...you can tell when they are done when they start to get soft/dissolve. My Eco Nuts made it through 7 loads of laundry and that included cold and hot washes AND extra rinses for the cloth diapers. I don't know why..and this is totally silly but I found these Eco Nuts so fun to use!

I am definitely a Eco Nuts convert! "You'd be nuts to use any other soap!"

Offspring Cloth Diapers Review and Giveaway--CLOSED

As promised, our "Changing 2 Cloth" event is here! Our first review and giveaway item is a cloth diaper from Offspring! Offspring on Etsy has some of the cutest cloth diaper designs...I saw them and fell in love instantly!

Offspring sent me two diapers; a "decorative" diaper and a "plain" diaper. I had a hard time choosing which decorative one to go with because they are all so cute but I ended up choosing the "red and pink swirls". For the plain diaper, I went with the chocolate brown.

So what is the difference between the decorative and the plain diaper? The difference is that the decorative cotton fabric will give the fluid a place to escape to, once the insert is saturated, so they don't last as long as the plain diapers. For this reason, I used the decorative diapers for the day time and the plain during the day and/or the night.

Here is some information on the construction of the diapers:

Pocket diapers are constructed with a soft Micro Chamois interior. Considered softer and more resilient than regular microfleece, this remarkable fabric helps keep baby dry. Let the microfleece “roll-out” as this feature actually helps prevent leakage. The exterior is a waterproof PUL. No need for a diaper cover. Generous elastic around legs and back allow for a snug fit. Velcro (Aplix) strip and crossover tab allows for a wide variety of adjustments. Each diaper comes with one microfiber/flannel insert. Microfiber holds more fluid and is less bulky than other fibers and makes for a slender fit. This versatile insert can be folded to give three layers of microfiber absorbency in the pocket OR used in a diaper cover (flannel side touching baby). Keep these inserts to use when baby reaches Medium or Large size as a "doubler".

First, I have to say that they are these diapers fit Lilly better than any other diaper we have...the velcro strip along the top really allows you to make the most snug and proper fit.
You can pull the tabs all the way on top of the top velcro piece or you can attach it to the long strip if you need it a bit bigger. This is definitely my favorite part of this diaper...I can't even begin to explain how well these fit Lilly....AND they're cute!!!

And the other great thing I love about Offspring cloth diapers is the inserts. They aren't one strip of thin microfleece...it is a wide squared shaped insert that you fold...so you can adjust the size to fit your diaper perfectly by making it as wide or as thin as you need!
Now the drawback we had with the decorative diaper is that Lilly is a heavy wetter so she did soak through these rather quickly and since the decorative cotton fabric will give the fluid a place to escape to, once the insert is saturated, she ended up with a rash. I was SO bummed when she got the rash because it is just the cutest diaper and fits her perfectly. But we found a solution for my heavy wetter...I just use 2 inserts when using this decorative diaper and we use it in the day only, not at night. Now she can still sport her cute cloth diaper!

Now, the plain diaper, we had absolutely no problems with and it was just as great fitting as the decorative. We can use this one in the day and all night. It is fabulous!

You can really see what a great snug fit these diapers create....

If I had to choose my favorite, I would go with the plain diaper since Lilly is a heavy wetter and I have no worries with the plain diaper....but I LOVE sporting the cute cloth diaper during the day!

Abby's Lane is a great site where you can buy cloth diapers, cloth diaper accessories, baby carriers...basically, almost anything you can think of!

When I decided to dive into the cloth diapering world, I decided to buy my cloth diapers from Abbys lane. I only had 2 cloth diapers in my stash because I wanted to try a couple brands out before committing to cloth diapering and so I needed a lot of diapers. I order 24 bum genius one size diapers and used a coupon code that I had found online. I was excited to have saved a pretty good penny on the diapers because well, cloth diapers aren't cheap when you are starting to build your stash.

Later that night, I received a call from Abby's lane and it turns out that BG was running a promotion for their diapers and you could find the coupon in magazines...well, I didn't know about this and I didn't have the magazine, but Abby's lane was collecting these coupons for their customers and applying them to their orders; anyhow...she called to tell me about this promotion and told me that she discounted my order to reflect the BG coupon...saving me even more money!

I was amazed with the customer service that I buy all my cloth diapering and baby needs from Abbys lane and recommend them all to my friends.

Ecomom was awesome and sent me some Pritti Polish and Pangea Lipcare to review and giveaway to one of my readers!

I really love the Pangea Lipcare I was sent. Sometimes chapsticks go on so thick and are kinda waxy like...this was not; it was really smooth and goes on light. It also smells a little lemon-y and I LOVE lemon scented anything! I keep it on my nightstand and have been using it a lot..I am really loving this new lip balm!

I haven't put on nail polish in quite some time and I haven't had a pedicure since I was pregnant...I know, I need to go out and have some ME time! Anyhow, I put on the Pritti Polish (Dragon Arum color) and it went on great..I only needed one coat. I have had the polish on for a little over a week and it is still holding pretty strong...there are a few spots I could touch up but it is holding really well considering I soak in the tub every night while I give Lilly a bath! And I gotta say, it felt good to pretty up a bit!

Bummas Cloth Wipes Review and Giveaway-- CLOSED

Bummas was kind of enough to send me some of their wild ones cloth wipes to review and giveaway for our "Changing 2 Cloth" event! I was so excited to try these out since I have been on the search for some good cloth wipes, so when they arrived in the mail, I started using them right away.

First, I LOVE the colors/trim of the wipes...they are so cute! They have 4 different sets of colors; the girls, the boys, the calm ones and the wild ones. My personal favorite is the wild ones and I was excited to have been sent those colors!

These cloth wipes wipe up exceptionally well...something about the terry cloth material really wipes everything up really easily and quickly. They have been great for diaper changes and I especially love them for cleaning Lilly's face after she has made a complete mess of herself while eating solids.

The only problem I had with these wipes...and it wasn't really so much as a problem rather than a preference...they are a little small for my liking. They are about the size of a 5x7 index card...when Lilly has a big mess of a diaper, I have to use more than one because I usually wipe, fold, wipe, fold, wipe....I just can't fold this cloth wipe as many times as I'd like...but using 2 isn't so bad and they do wipe up wonderfully.

Ecomom was kind enough to send me their Plum Oganics Sampler to review. Lilly started solids not too long ago, so I was excited to try out and review this new product. The sampler that I received had bananas, peaches, mangos, and pears.

The food was great....tasted fresh (yes, I tasted it...I taste everything Lilly eats before I give it to her!) and seriously, just delicious...and Lilly just loved it. I am in love with the paci clips! They are SO cute and I love that they are personalized! My Baby Can Talk Review and Giveaway-- CLOSED

I was so excited when I learned that we would be receiving the "My Baby Can Talk" series to review. I have been wanting to teach Lilly signing because I saw how great it can be through my best friend and her daughter. I knew the sign for milk, so I have been signing that to her since she was about 3 months old...she doesn't sign it to me but she definitely knows what the sign means when I sign it to her and I think that is so cool! Lilly is only 6 months so it is a little on the early side but I think exposing her to the signs as often as possible will really help her learn and catch on more quickly.

My Baby Can Talk is a series of award winning DVDs and board books that teaches babies and parents to communicate at an early age, reducing frustration and creating a special bond that is so important for healthy child development. Babies are able to communicate at a much earlier age than they are able to speak. Research has shown that babies who use sign language tend to speak sooner with larger vocabularies, show an increase in IQ scores and engage in more sophisticated play.

We received 3 board books and 3 DVD's, "First Signs", "Exploring Signs" and "Sharing Signs". First, I am so appreciative that they are board books....books are so easily destroyed by children and board books are just so much better for rough play, chewing, etc. that all babies seem to do to books!

We have been using these books and DVD's for a couple weeks now and Lilly really seems to be enjoying them. Every night, as part of her bedtime routine, we read her stories. Now, we incorporate the "First Signs" every night so that she can learn more of the signs.

The first signs books has things such as eat, drink, shoes, dog, cat, car, etc. So every time we are about to do one of these things we sign it and then do it immediately after and then sign it again. I'm sure it will take her some time to learn the signs but for now, she is watching and soaking it all in and she really seems to enjoy the book, the pictures and the signs.

The DVD's are great too. We have watched the "First Signs" DVD since that is a good starting point and she is still very young. She LOVES the DVD. She loves watching the animals and signs and hearing the sounds. What I love about the DVD is that it tells and shows you the sign and then shows you the sign in action, like cats running around, or dogs cuddling, or kids drinking or eating. And they don't just show the action once, it is shown over and over showing different kids, animals, etc. It doesn't move quickly through the signs, so it allows the child to learn to associate the sign to the action or animal.

I really cannot rave about this product enough. I think it is amazing and I am sure that she will be ahead of the game in signing since we are exposing it to her at an early age. I mean, she already learned milk and she is only 6 months and I imagine that these books and DVD's will really help her learn the signs more quickly...PLUS, she loves them!

Now for the 10 things you may not know about me:

1. I was born on Christmas Eve and I LOVE my birthday...I love the time of year, the cheer, the Christmas lights, the music..everything about it.

2. Though my husband and were born and raised in the same city and went to rival high schools and had mutual friends, we didn't meet until college where we both traveled half way across the county to Omaha, Nebraska.

3. I broke my right pinky toe when I was in high school and now I can completely pull it out to the side and make a 90 degree angle with it...disgusting, I know.

4. I went to college on a softball scholarship.

5. I am terrified of heights and being on a two way road that is so narrow that only one car can fit at a time absolutely terrifies me.

6. I met my best friend through the bump.com. She PM'd me one day and asked me if I lived at a certain place because she recognized me and it turns out she was my neighbor!

7. I am addicted to my iPod touch.

8. I despise doing dishes...my husband does them most of the time..thank god!

9. I wear makeup probably....I don't know, 4 times a year. Never really gotten into it and my husband prefers me without it.

10. I absolutely LOVE cloth diapering...I NEVER thought I would cloth diaper and now that I do, I won't be going back to disposables!

The NoseFrida Snot Sucker....sounds disgusting, right?...well, it actually kind of is BUT it is an amazing snot sucker! I actually look forward to sucking up Lilly's snot!

How many babies hate the bulb syringe? I don't think I have ever met a baby who did. Well...Lilly, absolutely HATES the bulb syringe and as soon as she sees it she cries (screams), arches her back and pulls away. Clearing out her nose has always been a difficult task, but now, with the NoseFrida, it's not too bad!

Did she love it? No. Did she hate it? No! She reacts so much better to this product than to the bulb syringe and I think it is because the sucker part doesn't actually go inside her nose...it just sits at the base of the nostril.

So how does it work? Well...it's easy actually. You put the little sucker against the base of the babies nostril, and then put the mouthpiece in your mouth and well, suck! And no, you won't suck any baby snot or boogies into your mouth...there is a fabulous little filter that prevents that from happening! When we tried it the first time I was AMAZED at how well it sucked up the snot and boogers...there was so much more up there than I thought!

It was really quick, easy and painless...and so was the cleanup! All you have to do is clean the tube and mouthpiece with hot, soapy water, toss and replace the filter and you're done! Easy Peasy!

I highly recommend this product!

I accomplished another goal in my 101 in 1001! I made a tutu for Lilly!

A about a week ago, I posted about how you can get your free tutorial on how to make a tutu....you can find that post HERE. All you have to do is visit http://www.misstutu.com/ and you will be emailed your free video tutorial on how to make a no sew tutu. If you sign up, make sure to put the referring mom as "Mommy Saves Money"!

I have been wanting to make a tutu for Lilly for a while...they are so expensive to buy and I love using them for photo props! I watched the video and then went to Michaels to buy what I needed and I LOVE the way it came out...and it was SO easy...it really only took me about 45 minutes to make!

If you decide to get your free tutorial and use her instructions, I would HIGHLY recommend getting a rotary cutter...that made the job a MILLION times easier and kept my cuts clean and straight.

Another Goal Accomplished!

I completed another goal on my 101 in 1001 and this is one I am SUPER proud of! I wrote and illustrated a book for Lilly! I love it and I am so glad I made this for her....it is a great keepsake for her and I know that when she looks back on it when she is older, that she will be reminded about how much I really love her.

The book is called "Dreams Come True" and it is all about how she is my wish and dream come true. After 2 years of trying to get pregnant, undergoing IF treatments, countless injections and the emotional roller coaster that goes along with infertility, we finally got pregnant on our 25th cycle in January of 2009. Lilly is truly our gift from God and we love her more than anything...she is our dream come true.

So I finished my 101 in 1001 list; you can find my entire list HERE. For those of you who aren't sure of what 101 in 1001 is, it is a list of 101 goals that I hope to complete in 1001 days! I started this on April 7, 2010 and I have until January 2, 2013 to complete my goals!

Anyhow, I completed my first goal! One of my goals was to make my own cleaning solutions. Now that Lilly is older and is pretty close to becoming more mobile (she is trying super hard to crawl but isn't getting anywhere quite yet), I wanted to have cleaners that were safe for her...I have no idea what is in the commercial cleaners I buy and that makes me nervous.

So I did some Googling and found some recipes for homemade cleaning solutions! I made 3 different cleaning solutions:

1) All purpose Cleaner

-tsp of borax
-4TBSP of vinegar
-32oz of hot water
-20 drops of essential oil (optional)
-Spray Bottle

2) Tub and Tile Cleaner

-Squeeze Bottle (a spray bottle won't work for this because the liquid is too thick...I used an old commercial dish washing soap bottle)
-Mix 1 and 2/3 cups of baking soda, 1/2 cup of liquid soap and 1/2 cup of water in a bowl. Stir with a fork until all lumps are gone and pour into your squeeze bottle.

3) Bathroom Mold Cleaner

I know, gross right? But when you don't have a window in the bathroom, sometimes it is just hard to avoid.
-1/2 cup of hydrogen peroxide
-1 cup water
-spray bottle
*Wait 1 hour before rinsing after you spray the affected area.
**tea tree oil can also be used for bathroom mold

So 1 down, 100 more to go!

I was really excited when Nina from "Your Memories Captured" emailed me to do a review of her stationary....I emailed her back right away and took her up on her offer! And she actually even sent me a custom cupcake topper design as well :::huge goofy smile here::: I am planning to have Lilly's first birthday be a cupcake theme (and yes, she is only 5 months old and I am already thinking about her 1st birthday..I'm a bit of a planner!)....I told Nina what I was looking for and she created me a super cute cupcake topper design!

I also fell in love with her damask design for paper stationary! She was SO great to work with....she was quick to answer emails and was always willing to help or change anything (although, they didn't need any changing!). I erased the name a bit because I don't want our last name floating around the interwebz but you guys get it! I LOVE it!

I seriously loved it so much that I printed it out right away and sent out a letter using it! And speaking of printing it out....one thing I really love about Nina and her shop is that she makes everything SO easy...with the image, she sent step-by-step instructions on how to print these out in order to get the best quality. For non-computer saavy people, this is great!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE taking pictures of Lilly in tutu's...as you can see from the pictures posted!

I love using them for her "month-day" photo shoots...I just think they always come out so adorable.

I actually got Lilly's tutu's on Etsy but I was recently contacted Jenni who is launching her Miss Tutu site on April 7th! Now, get this, you can get a free tutu-making lesson (no sew!!) by signing up at her site! Just go to:
